BCUN reviews the UN calendar on a regular basis to identify opportunities for participation in formal and informal events, on topics of interest. Some of these meetings and events have included the private sector consultation for the High-Level Panel on Access to Medicines, the World Humanitarian Summit, the side events at the Commission on the Status of Women, and the private sector consultation on WHO-FAO-OIE’s High-Level Meeting on Anti-Microbial Resistance.

Member-driven luncheons offer a venue for leaders from the international community and private sector to talk about issues that directly impact the global business environment. Generally held at the UN Delegates Dining Room, these events include Q & A sessions as well as networking receptions. Recent themes include non-communicable diseases, the ageing global population, disaster risk management, and sustainable energy. Panelists have included Permanent Representatives from UN Member States, senior UN Officials, and executives from civil society organizations and BCUN member companies. BCUN members have the opportunity to sponsor and help curate these events.
